Vesna Jovanovic is an artist from Chicago whose work focuses on how we collectively experience the world through our bodies and how culture forms these experiences. Her most recent paintings on polypropylene experiment with the formation of images, their roles, and our interactions with them. Jovanovic is a recipient of numerous residency fellowships including VCCA in Virginia and VCCA France, The Studios at MASS MoCA, Ucross Foundation, Santa Fe Art Institute, and a long-term studio residency at the International Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago. Her artwork has been exhibited at galleries and museums across the United States, and is included in permanent collections at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, International Museum of Surgical Science, and the Koehnline Museum of Art.
